Another year of fundraising success

Donations have been coming in thick and fast thanks to our fabulous long-standing fundraisers and some great new supporters too.

A big thank you to all our fundraisers who have collected the amazing total of £102,148 in donations from visitors to the Lake District and Cumbria over the last year. We will soon be writing cheques to all the beneficiary projects and we know that they will be tremendously grateful for all the funds, especially after the challenging weather of last year.

We'd like to say a particular thanks to some of our newest fundraisers including Middle Ruddings Country Inn and Restaurant who have been doing a great job raising awarness and funds for the Lake District Osprey Project, and Lake District Lodge Holidays who implemented online donations in record time and have been passionate about sharing responsible tourism messages with their guests.

We were overwhlemed by the positivity, resilience and generosity of all our fundraisers after the floods, but Catstycam deserve a special mention for their creative idea to turn a difficult situation on it's head by asking customers for donations to the Ullswater Envrionment Fund in exchange for water-damaged stock. They have raised over £1,000 already!

We think that the 143 businesses that are involved in visitor giving in Cumbria should be proud of their commitment to looking after the natural environment. We encourage them to highlight their acheivements and the generosity of their customers through social media and e-newsletters.

If you have any donations you have collected, no matter how small, please forward them to us by BACS or cheque - please get in touch if you would like a reminder of our payment details sarahdale@nurturelakeland.org

Thank you!
