Support for Ullswater from the Fell Running Community

Since setting up the Ullswater Environment Recovery Fund, we've been heartened by the generosity of businesses and individuals in the immediate aftermath of Storm Desmond

Our largest donation so far has come from the fell running community, who decided to donate all of the profits from their recent Great Whernside Fell race to the fund.

Bearing in mind that it takes around £100 to repair just 1 metre of footpath, we would love to be able to hit a target of £5,000.

If you have visited Ullswater and would like to help the beautiful landscape recover to it's former glory, you can. How about holding a fundraising event in your business or community, such as a raffle at your offfice social. Or, dare we suggest it, get sponsored to give something up in January? Or just donate whatever you can today - it all adds up.

You can donate online here.

In the New Year, we will be working with the conservation agencies, landowners and communities to make sure that the funds raised go to where they are needed most. Sign up to our newsletter, or follow us on facebook or twitter for updates about the Fund.
