Tyan is looking for a new home

Co-wheels are looking for a business to host an income generating 2 seater electric Renault Twizy until February 2018

An exciting opportunity now exists to host ‘Tyan’ one of the Twizy flock, ideally in the Keswick – Borrowdale area.

The deployment of the Twizy flock has been one element of a much larger ‘See More Cumbria and the Lake District’ project.

This sustainable transport programme that has been delivered in partnership by Cumbria County Council, the Lake District National Park Authority and Cumbria Tourism, following on from the Go Lakes Travel programme.  This is a fantastic opportunity to promote and encourage sustainable travel throughout Cumbria and the Lake District.

The See More programme has kick-started investment in the Twizy network at a number of accommodation providers and visitor attractions in the Penrith-Ullswater and Keswick-Borrowdale area’s by funding the lease of the vehicles, the running costs, booking systems, sheep branding, and marketing.

A list of the current host businesses and locations, details of each individual ‘sheep’, example itineraries and further information on how to hire can be found on the Co-wheels website at: www.co-wheels.org.uk/twizyflock

The Twizy and contract will be provided through the appointed car club operator Co-wheels. The host business will pay a hosting fee of £100 per month to Co-wheels, but then the host keeps any income generated from hires. Effectively the host needs to hire out the Twizy for 3 days a month to cover costs, based on hiring rates of £30 for a half day and £45 for a full day.
