We are continuing working with businesses to provide sustainable travel information to visitors through the Go Lakes Travel Programme, this is an exciting opportunity to further develop the work that Fresh Air is Free started. We will be continuing in this vane under a new campaign called Drive Less See More. This Programme is focusing on the South and Central Lake District between 2011 and 2015 it aims to generate a step-change in how visitors travel to and around the area, enabling them to make greater use of sustainable modes of travel. Drive Less See More Visitor Attractions Pilot: 21st September 2012
A pilot project is getting under way to see what role visitor attractions can play in encouraging sustainable tourism. We are pleased to be working with Lakes Aquarium, Dove Cottage, Brockhole and Hill Top on developing information to encourage their visitors to explore the rest of the vicinity, thereby reducing their travel and potentially benefitting other businesses in the area.

Green travel to National Trust experiences: 2nd August 2012
