We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who supported us at our 18th Birthday Gala Dinner, a wonderful, memorable evening was had by all!
Our Birthday Celebrations featured entertainment from story-teller Ian Douglas, click here to read the beautiful story he created utilising the traditional Cumbrian folk song 'Canny Aul Cummerlan'.
A ‘This is Your Life’ performance tracked Nurture Lakeland’s growth since its foundation in 1994. Contributors sent in messages from far-flung locations such as Kuala Lumpur, while other faces from the past attended in person, such as Oliver Maurice (director of the International National Trusts Organisation), Bob Cartwright (Director of Park Services for the Lake District National Park) and Chris Tomlinson OBE (former chief executive of Cumbria Tourism).
The night finished with birthday cake and wishes, Loveleigh Vintage Teas made special cupcakes for each guest while Ian Douglas led the audience in a final happy birthday sing-song and wishes for the future, a beautiful sentiment.
Local photographer Tiree Dawson was busy capturing the magical atmosphere at The Low Wood on the evening - prints will be available to order from her website with 50% of all profits generated being gifted back to Nurture Lakeland (password to view is 'birthday').
Thanks again for all the support, we look forward to celebrating with you again in the future.... perhaps at our 21st?
