Preparation of a Feasibility Study and Delivery Plan for Cycle Tourism in Penrith and the Eden Valley
Nurture Lakeland wish to appoint experienced consultants to prepare a Feasibility Study for the further development of: Penrith as a ‘Cycle Hub’ and cycle tourism in the Eden Valley. The company will need to have proven practical experience in working with organisations and key stakeholders to develop cycling infrastructure and cycle tourism.

Project: Isle of Arran Visitor Payback Initiative
VISIT ARRAN
Development of a Visitor Payback Initiative for the Isle of Arran to fund marine and land conservation. Development of business models and establishment of the Arran Trust. Preparaton of an annual Business Plan and 5 year strategic plan. Delivery of business presentations and stakeholder briefings. Organisation and operation of a pilot scheme prior to full roll out of the scheme. Preparation of funding bid to RDPE

Project: Cognation Mountain Bike Centres VPI
Neath Port Talbot
Nurture Lakeland worked with project officers at the Cognation Mountain Bike Project to develop a VPI to provide sustainable income for the maintenance and marketing of the trails in the future. Workshops and presentations were delivered to stakeholders and business owners to gain local engagement and agreement. An implementation plan was drawn up and this was used to bid for project implementation funding from Visit Wales.

Project: 7stanes Mountain Bike Centres VPI Model
SCOTTISH ENTERPRISE
Nurture Lakeland are working with Scottish Enterprise to develop a VPI to provide core funding for the 7stanes mountain bike centres, to include, management of trails, visitor information and infrastructure. This funding will replace existing European funding (due to end in 2011). Phase 1 involved the provision of advice on company structures, guidance on public perceptions, and organising fact finding visits with other organisations operating in a similar mode. Nurture Lakeland devised and facilitated stakeholder seminars with representatives of the public and private sector, securing stakeholder buy in for the scheme. Subsequently the project has secured 2 years seed funding and is now recruiting staff. Phase 2 of the consultancy will involve, Key staff induction, business engagement with facilitated workshops and ongoing support.

‘CONSERVING OUR NATURAL BEAUTY’
NORTH WALES TOURISM PARTNERSHIP
Nurture Lakeland worked with the Tourism Partnership to explore the development of a visitor payback scheme to support a range of local projects including; Geo Mon, the Anglesey coastal path and red squirrel conservation. Consultation involved; preparation and delivery of presentations on Visitor Payback and consultation with 45 key stakeholders from the public, private and third sector in North Wales; in depth discussion with the Regional Advisor on Red Squirrel conservation in the area and the establishment of a baseline for VP development together with identification of a range of contributors. The Tourism Partnership North Wales has produced a set of proposals for the roll out of VP in specific target zones across North Wales.

‘OUR PARK’ PROJECT
PROJECT INCEPTION, VISITOR PAYBACK FOR FRIENDS OF THE LOCH LOMOND
‘Our Park’ Visitor Payback Project sought to provide a secure income stream for funding conservation work around Loch Lomond and within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Nurture Lakeland provided project inception consultancy with in depth analysis of the business plan, business management, marketing advice, staff induction, and twelve months of remote support. The consultancy worked with the project manager to develop clear structures for selection of appropriate projects, development of marketing materials, a timetable and plan of action for approaching businesses, delivery of a robust business model with full stakeholder engagement and identification of further funding support. Now twelve months on ‘Our Park’ is successfully up and running with a range of businesses participating in the scheme and a robust and secure future.
